Rubric Birds of a Feather meeting, February 2008 in Silicon Valley

Rubric hosted another great breakfast meeting for localization professionals on February 13, 2008. Silicon Valley L10N experts from Cisco, Fair Isaac, SuccessFactors, Synaptics, Workday, NetSuite, TiVo, Borland and other companies attended. During the presentation, Rubric CEO Ian Henderson reviewed the radical change between the old desktop translation management systems and the newer global management portals. Ian was joined by Chase Tingley of Idiom, who spoke about how global management systems speed the L10N process.

Ian Henderson, Rubric's CEO, chats with Cisco's Richard Faubert while digging into a hearty breakfast.

As always, Rubric laid out a breakfast buffet with the works. Rubric's COO, Francoise Spurling, eyes the pastry.

Ian Henderson greets CodeGear's (Borland) Masahiro Aria while Richard Faubert of Cisco prepares to be introduced (Rubric BOF meetings are the best place for L10N pros to network).

Smitta Mital of TiVo listens as Idom's Chase Tingley chats with Armando Aguillon, also of TiVo.

Craig Sullivan of NetSuite engages Francoise Spurling about localization project management while his teammate Patrice Fabre listens-in.

Ian Henderson kicks-off the presentation showing the evolution of translation management from desktop to centralized portals.

TiVo's Smitta Mital, Masahiro Arai from CodeGear, and Richard Faubert from Cisco listen along with Rubric's Ian Henderson as Idiom's rep talks about key benefits to portal-based localization management.

Idiom's Chase Tingley's presentation kept Craig Sullivan's and Patrice Fabre's of NetSuite attention.

Smitta Mital and Armando Aguillon, both of TiVo, trade localization notes with Jarlath O'Carroll of Billeo.

Patrice Fabre, Chase Tinley take notes after the presentation while Ian Henderson dig deeper into the presentation topic.

Beth Robb of Workday and Craig Sullivan of NetSuite take time to network.

Megan Yen — Synaptics discusses multilingual file setup with Rubric's Francoise Spurling.

Chase Tingley of Idiom, Patrice Fabre from NetSuite, Rubric CEO Ian Henderson, Gang Li of NetSuite and Masahiro Arai of CodeGear had a long post-presentation discussion covering many topics.
