Rubric values the privacy of our customers

Rubric respects your privacy and is committed to protect the personal information that you share with us. This policy describes how we collect and use your personal information when we require personal information to provide services or materials that you request, or when you choose to provide us with your personal information otherwise.

Information collection
Personal information means any information that may be used to identify an individual, including, but not limited to, a given name and surname, e-mail address, postal or other physical address, company name, other contact information, title, birth date, occupation, industry, personal interests, and other information when needed to provide a service or materials you requested.

When you browse our Web site, you do so anonymously, unless you have filled out and submitted one or more of the forms within our Web site. Please note that Rubric does log your IP address (the Internet address of your computer or proxy server). This is done so we can evaluate which part of our Web site is being visited and how long visitors spend there. But we do not link your IP address to any personal information unless you have filled out and submitted one or more of the forms within our Web site.

Like many other commercial Web sites, the Rubric Web site may use a standard technology called a "cookie" to save personal information so we can automatically complete future registration forms you may encounter. Please go to "Cookies and Tracking Information" below for more information.

Rubric collects personal information when you complete one or more of the forms within our Web site, when you request Rubric corporate materials, when you ask to be included in a mailing list, when you ask for a proposal, or when you submit your personal information to Rubric for any other reason.

Access to certain Rubric Web pages requires a login and a password. That login and password are commonly requested through forms within our Web site, and the appropriate login and passwords are supplied to qualified individuals upon receipt of the submitted forms by Rubric. The submission of a form in no way obligates Rubric to supply the login and password or any other requested services or materials to such individuals. Rubric shall use its sole discretion to determine which individuals are qualified.

Opt out
You always have the opportunity to "opt out" of receiving direct marketing or market research information simply by stating this request in an e-mail to info@rubric.com or in a written letter addressed to Rubric, Inc., 1050 Winter Street, Suite 1000, Waltham, MA 02451, USA.

Cookies and tracking technology
A cookie is a small data file stored only on your computer. A cookie file can contain information such as a user ID that this site uses to track the pages you've visited, but the only personal information a cookie can contain is information you supply yourself. A cookie can't read data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites. Some forms within the Rubric Web site use cookies to save you time on future visits. The cookies enable you to submit multiple forms within the Rubric Web site without having to re-enter data after the first submission.

If you prefer not to receive cookies from this site, you can set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies and refuse the cookie at that time. You can alternatively refuse all cookies by turning them off in your browser, although you may not be able to take full advantage of Rubric's Web site or other web sites. You do not need to have cookies turned on to use/navigate through the Rubric Web site.

How we use the information we collect
Rubric uses information for several general purposes:

  • to fulfill your requests for certain services and materials
  • to enhance your experience using our Web site
  • to learn how Rubric can serve you best
  • to keep you up-to-date on the latest Rubric news and offerings

We may also use your information to send you direct marketing information or contact you for market research.

We do not share your information with any entity outside of Rubric, except where required by law or otherwise explained below in "Information Sharing and Disclosure".

Information sharing and disclosure
Because Rubric is a global company, your personal information may be shared with other Rubric offices or subsidiaries around the world. All such entities are governed by this privacy policy and/or are bound by the appropriate confidentiality and data transfer agreements.

Your personal information is never shared outside Rubric without your permission, except under conditions explained below.

Inside Rubric, your information is stored in controlled areas with limited access. Your information may be stored and processed in any country where Rubric, its subsidiaries, affiliates or agents are located.

Rubric may send your personal information to other companies or people under any of the following circumstances:

  • when we have your consent to share the information
  • we need to share your information to provide the service or materials you have requested
  • we need to send the information to companies who work on behalf of Rubric to provide a product or service to you (we will only provide those companies the information they need to deliver the service, and they are prohibited from using that information for any other purpose)
  • the requested materials have been co-authored by Rubric and another company.

We will also disclose your personal information if required to do so by law, or in urgent circumstances, to protect personal safety, the public or our Web site.

Third party sites
Rubric's Web site may contain links to other sites. Rubric does not share your personal information with those Web sites and is not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to learn about the privacy policies of those companies.

Changes to this privacy policy
Rubric may amend this policy from time to time. If Rubric makes any substantial changes in the way we use your personal information, we will make that information available by posting a notice on this site.
