Rubric Streamlines File Distribution in the Localization Process

Wednesday, March 12, 2003

Rubric, a leading localization and translation services provider, has introduced Rubric DispatchWizard™ into its localization process to streamline the distribution and delivery of potentially thousands of files during a single project. Rubric DispatchWizard™ is the latest addition to Rubric FMS™, Rubric's file and change management system.

Rubric DispatchWizard™ automates the delivery of files. At the click of a button it renames files and enables selective distribution of the files to an unlimited number of project team members. The tool is highly scalable, automatically generating tens or even hundreds of e-mails instantly, routing only the relevant files to each individual pursuant to predefined rules, ensuring that each individual receives only the specific files assigned to such individual. Concurrent to e-mail distribution of the files, Rubric DispatchWizard™ also publishes the files to Rubric's StreamNET™ extranet for archival purposes.

For one of Rubric's customers, Rubric has introduced project management time savings of approximately 10% using Rubric DispatchWizard™. For such customer, Rubric localizes an on-going stream of documentation and software utilities into 18 languages. For any given project there can be as many as 150 PDF deliverables, including both printable and on-line versions. In addition a BOM is generated and sent separately from the PDF files. The tool is used not only to transfer files with this customer, but also with the customer's four printing companies. The process improvements have resulted in cost savings for both Rubric's customer and the customer's printing companies.
