Implements version 4.0 of Rubric L10ninspector internationalization testing tool

Rubric, a leading localization and translation services provider, has strengthened the preventative testing component of the company's localization services. Rubric has achieved this through the release and deployment of Version 4.0 of Rubric L10nInspector, Rubric's internal internationalization testing tool. Rubric implements Rubric L10nInspector free of charge as a preventative testing measure as part of its standard software localization services.
Rubric adheres to a preventative approach to localization. Rubric implements a series of tests up-front in the localization process to verify that a source application is in a sufficient state to be localized, and to uncover any hidden, potential problems that would otherwise not be apparent until the mid- or late stages of a localization project.
A critical tool in the preventative testing process, Rubric L10nInspector detects various internationalization problems in software applications, pseudo-translating the product files and facilitating the identification of any potential issues such as hard coded text, concatenation problems, etc. The pseudo-translation can be configured to expand to different lengths to simulate text expansion caused by translation and configured to identify concatenation of strings and screen elements as well. The tool supports all platforms as well as programming and mark-up languages, including Java and XML.
With the new release of Rubric L10nInspector, the underlying code and the UI have been completely rewritten. The new release makes the creation of a pseudo-translated version of a software application even faster and easier. Consequently, the preventative testing process can commence earlier than in the past.
In addition, automatic encoding options have been expanded, so that the pseudo-translated files can be immediately output to UTF-8, in addition to the option of exporting to the native encoding for the target language in question.
