Rubric to Speak about Effective Localization Strategies at Software Everywhere Seminar

Monday, June 10, 2002

Rubric, a leading localization and translation services company, will be giving a presentation about effective localization strategies at the upcoming Software Everywhere: Developing and Managing Global Software Sales seminar in Bedford, Massachusetts on June 19, 2002. The conference is sponsored by the Massachusetts Export Center, and is cosponsored by Middlesex Community College, North Suburban Chamber of Commerce and the Software & Information Industry Association.

Worldwide, there is tremendous demand for software produced in the United States. The U.S. Department of Commerce has named software as a best U.S. export prospect for over 30 countries around the globe. The total software market in our top export markets alone amounts to over $100 billion, with a U.S. import market share of over 50%. Moreover, overseas markets for software are situated for growth. Clearly, there is an enormous opportunity for software companies of all sizes in the U.S. to begin or expand international sales.

This event is designed to help software companies effectively plan, launch and manage successful global sales operations. The seminar will cover: development and management of global sales and distribution channels; international software legal issues; software encryption and e-commerce export controls; software localization; international electronic software distribution; international credit risk management and financing software export sales.

Rubric's presentation will focus on effective and reliable localization strategies. The strategies will aim to assist attendees in reducing localization time-to-market while minimizing costs and increasing the quality of localized products. Rubric will discuss how a preventative approach to localization and how a holistic implementation of QA can maximize localization return-on-investment (ROI).

"Rubric has a solid reputation as a leading provider of localization and translation services," states Paula Murphy, Director of the Massachusetts Export Center. "Their customers include some of the largest and most well recognized software and technology companies in the world. They are specialists in streamlining the process, and we are excited that they are sharing their expertise at the event."
