RUBRIC ENHANCES ITS LOCALIZATION METHODOLOGY; IMPLEMENTS ADDITIONAL LAYER OF PREVENTATIVE TESTING

Wednesday, May 31, 2000

Rubric, a leading localization services provider to Information Technology (IT) companies, announced that it is enhancing its localization methodology with the development and deployment of Rubric L10nINSPECTOR™. An internationalization verification tool, Rubric L10nINSPECTOR™ is run prior to localization. Consequently, the tool identifies problems such as hard-coding and target-language build problems in the source files up-front, thus enabling solutions to be applied to the source files early in the process and averting ship-date delays to the localized product.

As a critical component of its localization methodology, Rubric has always conducted up-front verification of source files to confirm the localization-readiness of products to be localized. The up-front, preventative verification averts time-consuming rework late into a project due to problems in the source software files. The implementation of Rubric L10nINSPECTOR™ further strengthens the up-front localization-readiness verification component of Rubric's localization process.

"Identifying and resolving issues with the source files is always easier, faster and less costly than dealing with the issues reactively during the localization process" advises Ian Henderson, Director of Engineering at Rubric. "By implementing Rubric L10nINSPECTOR™ up-front in the localization process, we feel that we are making the overall localization process more reliable for our customers. With intense time-to-market demands, this reliability is critical in serving their international users."
