Software Business: December 2000
In its December 2000 issue, Software Business magazine quoted Rubric's Tom Shapiro, VP of Sales & Marketing, in its Service & Technology Leaders section.
In response to the question, "How will software continue to expand through branding and quality products with the help of vender solutions?", Tom answered:
"More and more, software is being developed from the start as "world-ready", with the intention of taking it global. However, there is still a long road to travel before this scenario is the norm. To that end, we will increasingly see software and localization companies collaborate at the development stage and form substantial, long-term partnerships for implementing their localization requirements. Architecting software for multiple locales inherently builds flexibility and scalability into the product's core. Partnering enables companies to continually refine their processes into an efficient "globalization machine". These activities result in higher quality software and reduce the amount of rework, effort and time it takes to port an application to different markets. This, in turn, can generate significant returns to a company's bottom line as it expands internationally."
