Multilingual Computing & Technology: December 2002

In its December 2002 issue, Multilingual Computing & Technology magazine quotes Rubric's Tom Shapiro, VP of Sales & Marketing, in the column "VIEWPOINTS".

In response to the question, "What effect will the changing global economy have on the language industry over the next year?", Shapiro answers:

"Many global companies are returning to fundamentals, assessing every opportunity in terms of return-on-investment (ROI). In the end, this is desirable, because it leads to sustainable business growth and enables companies to become stronger in the new global economy. Language industry service providers need to be streamlined and agile in their business models, offering true value-add to a customer's core competency. They need to prove that their solutions result in ROI. Service providers who can specialize, increase operational efficiencies and strengthen customer service will be well positioned to thrive in the future."
