Busy Time for Rubric
By Dan Beauchemin
So, you think you're busy, slaving all week as you clamber up that company ladder? Throw in a Saturday at the office and a Sunday spent on long-neglected errands, and it seems like no time at all before you're right back to the grind on Monday.
Well, if it makes you feel any better, the folks at Rubric are so busy, they haven't even had time to catch cold. Within the last few weeks, the company has taken major steps in the geographical, legal, and technical arenas.
Rubric, a software, documentation, and website localization company headquartered in Boston, is expanding its European production center near London, doubling the amount of available office space to keep pace with Rubric's rapid growth. As the company has expanded, the demand for space for engineers, linguists, and other support staff has grown apace. Tom Shapiro, VP of sales and marketing at Rubric, stated that "the expanded office space enables us to continue our current rate of growth while still offering reliable, efficient and scalable localization services."
In a move that could continue to fuel that growth, Rubric also announced that it has applied for patents on technologies enabling visual interactivity of software in a WYSIWYG setting. "It is critical that we constantly develop and refine technologies to streamline the localization process for our customers. The patent pending status on our technologies represents our commitment to this," said Ian Henderson, Rubric's director of strategic development.
As a final touch to their busy month, Rubric announced that they have enhanced the abilities of Rubric UI Wizard with the development of rcTranslate. The technologies are used by Rubric's localization teams to improve the localization process for its customers' software products.
