Ian Henderson, Chief Executive Officer, is the founder of Rubric and oversees the process of creating a better localization experience for Rubric’s clients. Ian combines a deep knowledge of globalization issues with an equally deep understanding of technology and distributed team management. Ian's opinion is often reported throughout the localization industry and has appeared in Multilingual Computing & Technology and Software Business. Prior to joining Rubric, Ian worked in a variety of management and engineering positions at Siemens (Germany), Expert Software and Phoenix Software (New Zealand) and Berlitz (England).
Françoise Henderson, Chief Operating Officer, is a the co-founder of Rubric. She oversees Worldwide Production and is responsible for localization methodology and human resources. Under Françoise's guidance, Rubric has generated one of the most reliable production records in the industry. Françoise has over 20 years’ experience in the localization industry, with positions in corporate management and translation. Prior to Rubric, Françoise was General Manager of Berlitz’s UK office. Her background as a professional translator is invaluable when addressing linguistic issues and she has written extensively on the topic of translation quality. Her highly developed ability to identify opportunities for process improvements has allowed Rubric to develop its high level of automation leading to effective customization of Rubric’s clients’ processes. Françoise is the Treasurer of the non-profit organization Translators without Borders – US, Inc.
Sonette Hill, President of Rubric South Africa, formerly Web-lingo, founded the South African translation company with technical project manager and sister Lee van Munster in 1997. She is passionate about the development of South African languages that only became 'official' in 1994. Prior to 1994, South Africa had only two official languages, English and Afrikaans. The English version of the South African constitution refers to the languages by the names in those languages: isiZulu, isiXhosa, Afrikaans, Sepedi (referring to Northern Sotho), Setswana, English, Sesotho (referring to Southern Sotho), Xitsonga, Siswati, Tshivenda and isiNdebele (referring to Southern Ndebele).
Susannah Eccles, Production Manager, is responsible for the production team in our Edinburgh office. Susannah started work as a project manager at Rubric 14 years ago after graduating from Edinburgh University and completing a post graduate diploma in information management. Over the years Susannah has focused on evaluating materials and preparing quotations for prospective clients. She also has built a deep understanding of the localization process and how best to help customers navigate the process.
Martin Green, Chief Technology Officer, is responsible for Rubric’s overall IT strategy. He has been involved in IT professionally for 20 years, working primarily in software development but also in systems management and consultancy. He has a First Class degree in Software Engineering from Birmingham University. His consultancy experience includes designing new software systems for companies such as Chubb, Toshiba and Carillion, offering him an unusually wide view of how technology is used within business. For more than 12 years, Martin has advised Rubric on IT strategy, creating a technology team and deploying tools and systems designed for automation of the localization process flow.
Rebecca Petras, Marketing Director, handles all marketing activities for Rubric. She is the founder of Petras Associates, a corporate and brand strategic communications consultancy based in Seattle, USA. She also serves as public relations and marketing specialist for the not-for-profit Globalization and Localization Association (GALA) and marketing consultant at Rubric.
Jane Sheldon, Human Resources Director, manages overall recruitment, team building and personnel needs at Rubric. She began her career with Marks and Spencer and then moved to giants in the accounting industry, Arthur Andersen and then Grant Thornton, where she handled full HR management responsibilities. She has been working with Rubric since 2004.
